Scope
Covers all of Nevi'im (Former and Latter Prophets): Joshua, Judges, Samuel, Kings, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and the Twelve Minor Prophets.
Translation Style
More paraphrastic than Onkelos. Contains extensive expansions, haggadic additions, and theological interpretations, particularly around messianic passages and theophany texts.
Language
Jewish Palestinian Aramaic, though with Babylonian redaction layers. Distinct from the Babylonian Aramaic of Onkelos.
Key Manuscripts
Codex Reuchlinianus (Karlsruhe, 1105 CE) is the most important manuscript. Cairo Geniza fragments provide earlier witnesses to variant readings.
